Jane Abbott is a native of Irvington, NY where she studied at Irvington High School before going on to Columbia University to receive her B.A. in Dance. Jane earned her Mat and Equipment Pilates Certifications at Gramercy Pilates in 2019 under the direction of master teacher, Kim Fielding. Jane is a professional dancer working in NYC. She is currently a member of The Chase Brock Experience and General Mischief Dance Theatre. She has performed Off-Broadway, regionally and internationally. Additionally, Jane has worked as a Pilates instructor at Manhattan Plaza Health Club since 2019 where she teaches both group classes and private sessions. Her focus is on functional movement. In her sessions, she aims to help clients find both strength and flexibility that they can then carry through to their other forms of exercise and their everyday lives.

Alexis del Sol started dancing as child and has always loved it. However, she earned her Bachelors in Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology in 2001 to pursue a stable and reliable profession. However, after working as an engineer for a few years, she realized she missed dance. To support her dance education and career, she turned toward Pilates. She earned her Pilates Mat and Apparatus certification in 2003 at Orange Coast College in Santa Ana, CA. She earned her Masters in Fine Arts in Dance at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH in 2012.  She currently serves as Assistant Professor of Theatre/Dance at Westchester Community College in Valhalla, NY. And most recently, she received her 200HR Yoga Teacher Trainer Certificate in 2022 at Yoga Love Studio in Irvington, NY. Alexis is living the dream teaching dance, yoga and Pilates.

Karen Gstalder-Dring, MSPT Integrating rehabilitative services with Pilates in the Rivertowns

Karen Gstalder-Dring, a NY state licensed Physical Therapist, believes in a holistic approach to rehabilitation, maintenance and prevention. Karen has worked in a variety of traditional in-patient and out-patient settings, including New York Presbyterian Medical Center at Columbia University and Turner Physical Therapy in New York City. She has run her own private practice since 2000 where she enjoys combining her kinesthetic background with her manual skills in a Pilates-based rehabilitative setting.

Karen received a BFA in Dance from Tisch School of the Arts at NYU in 1988 and danced professionally for six years. A dance related injury in 1986 led her to her mentor, the late Pilates Elder Kathleen Stanford Grant, with whom she continued to study with for close to 25 years. Karen has taught in numerous Pilates studios throughout New York City.

She graduated summa cum laude with a masters in physical therapy from Long Island University in 1998, where she co-authored a research article published in The Journal of Manual and Manipulative Medicine.

Karen is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance and the American Physical Therapy Association and has spent many years active in continuing education programs, most notably from the Institute of Physical Arts.
